Directions for Measuring Your Horse
for a bitted halter...

Measuring for Head Length
From the corner of the horse's mouth at which a bit would rest
comfortably, determine your starting point. Your starting
point is 1 1/2" or 4 cm from the corner of the mouth so that you
are accommodating for the bit rings. At your
starting point measure by going up the side of the face
and over the bridle path/poll and back down the other side of the face
ending at 1 1/2" or 4cm from the corner of the horse's mouth on
the other side. This is
your head length for a bitted halter.
